THE PROJECT OF INTELLIGENT MANAGEMENT OF EMERGENCIES IN BUSINESS PARKS, A REFERENCE OF INTERNATIONAL INNOVATION

The development of a new technological solution that will allow the modeling, simulation and intelligent management of emergencies in the Business Parks of Alcalá de Guadaíra within the framework of the project "Platform for intelligent business parks", is already an international benchmark.

Víctor Bañuls, managing partner of MSIG and professor of Business Organization at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide, has participated in the research of this project, presented at two top-level scientific forums: the ISCRAM Asia Pacific Congress held in Australia last November 2022 and the ACME 2022 Congress held in December in Ecuador

The scientific interest of the project is due to two important innovations at the international level, which have an interesting application in the field of emergency management.

The first innovation is due to the algorithm used by the software, based on the "cross-impact" methodology, developed by researchers Turoff and Bañuls, from the New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) and the Universidad Pablo de Olavide respectively, and which allows the real-time analysis of hundreds of interrelated risk events coming from intelligent cameras, sensors or open data sources.

A second important innovation is the implementation for the first time of a comprehensive security solution in a business park through the creation of a Collaborative Emergency Plan that will provide the following advantages:

  • Key information in real time, at the Business Park level, during the management of an emergency, both for the authorities with responsibility for the management of the emergency and for the intervention teams.
  • Highly accessible information, through the use of mobile devices, which will allow monitoring, geopositioned on GIS systems, the resources available for the fight against the emergency, the different hazards or points of interest in the vicinity of the emergency, such as storage of hazardous substances, gas or electricity cut-off points or dynamic information on the status of access roads, or evacuation routes, among others.
  • It will provide support to the emergency management for the safe sending of warnings and instructions to the different emergency managers of the companies and of the Parks' Urban Conservation Entities.

The research concludes that "emergency plans constitute an intangible asset of the companies that would allow them to better face possible catastrophic events that could arise. Likewise, the results obtained in this research work have allowed defining the scope of the Collaborative Emergency Plans in Business Parks and their basic functionalities, as well as the emergency scenarios and aggravating scenarios. Finally, it was determined that the Collaborative Emergency Plans are a tool for building Organizational Resilience".
